In terms of research the UFR IM²AG benefits from the exceptional level of research in the Grenoble area. It is one of the few places in which coexist private and academic research laboratories of the highest level in particular in the domain of micro and nanotechnologies, computer sciences and mathematics.
The institutes related to the UFR, which are associated to CNRS and INRIA are internationaly known as is shown by :
 
  • The Carnot Institue label for the project Software and Intelligent Systems (LSI) lead by Université Grenoble Alpes,
  • Many european projects: ERC, PCRD, etc.,
  • Minalogic pole of competivity, numerous ANR projects, etc.
